***Unique Camponotus species. Camponotus discolor grows very fast and can be heated similarly to harvester ant species we also sell here on our website. When heated, the queen will lay eggs year-round. Early foraging activity is much more robust than most larger Camponotus species, and early growth rates are much quicker. Majors of this species tend to show up very early, within the first six months of the colony founding.***
How do I receive my order fast?
1. We ship ants on Monday, Tuesday (if needed), and Saturday. When you order, your ant colony will ship on the following available date typically, but we must prepare the ants for shipment which CAN take a day or two. Often we have ants ready to ship and there is no delay.
2. If you need ants shipped overnight (or if you live in a nearby state where shipping times are only 1-2 days), email or call (919-348-3642) us to discuss availability of shipping schedule. We are happy to accommodate requests of this nature when possible.

The identification of these ants was given by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as Camponotus discolor in April of 2022.
There is still some discrepancy among professionals and hobbyists about the correct identification of these ants (C. discolor or C. decipiens). We have permits for both Camponotus discolor and Camponotus decipiens, the other species identification of these ants, and ship both permits together with the ants. If you have questions about these ants as far as care requirements, please contact us at tarheelants@gmail.com***
